Review - Editor's personal experience at the Mazagan Casino in El Jadida, near Casablanca:
This is a very large, beautiful, Las Vegas style casino part of the Mazagan Beach Resort complex, which is massive. There is tight security around and within the complex, and you may be asked to produce your ID as you enter the resort and on your way to the reception area. The reception hall splits into two parts; one leading to the hotel property and one to the casino. The resort and casino personnel are friendly and welcoming. The gaming area; slot machines, table games and the cardroom, are all in one hall. The roulette tables are the single zero American style, which they call 'English Roulette' or 'Roulette Anglais'. Minimum bet starts at 50 Dirham for roulette and 100 Dirham for card games. The casino restaurant is nice serving a good range of dishes. The food is excellent and the service is first class. Smoking inside the casino is permitted. The gaming currency is in Moroccan Dirham and there is an in-house currency exchange facility. You may be asked for an ID when exchanging foreign currency. You will be given a receipt, which you will need to show should you wish to exchange back your money.
Rating:One of the best!

Remarks: Le Casino de Marrakech opened in 1952 and is located next to the Hotel Es Saadi
Review - Editor's personal experience at the Le Casino de Marrakech:
This is a small casino on an elevated floor level, located next to the Hotel Es Saadi with the main entrance accessed from the street. The place is sectioned into three parts; the slots area, the table games area and the restaurant/bar area. The cardroom area is part of the table games section, with the poker tables placed on the perimeter of the hall, surrounding the four roulette and four blackjack tables. There are about 60 slot machines and one eight-post Alfastreet touchbet automatic roulette carousel. On the touchbet roulette when you want to cash out your credits, you need to call an attendant who will prepare a ticket and ask you to sign on it. This ticket is then handed at the cash desk where you will be paid in cash. The roulette tables are the single zero American style, which they call 'English Roulette'. Minimum bet starts at 50 Dirham for roulette and 200 Dirham for blackjack. You cannot buy-in chips at the gaming tables. You need to buy value chips at the cash desk first. The restaurant has a bar and a disco. Smoking inside the casino is permitted. The gaming currency is in Moroccan Dirham and there is an in-house currency exchange facility.

Review - Editor's personal experience at the Le Grand Casino la Mamounia in Marrakech:
This is a large, very nice casino with the gaming area and two bars on the ground floor and a restaurant on the first floor. There are a few slot machines at the entrance together with an eight posts touchbet electronic roulette carousel. The live table games are in the centre of the main hall and the slot machines run along the perimeter of the main hall. The roulette tables are the single zero American style, which they call 'English Roulette'. Minimum bet starts at 25 Dirham, but there are several tables with 50 and 100 Dirham minimum bet. The even-money outside bets lose when the outcome is zero. Although giving a tip each time you win at roulette is not mandatory, the dealer (and also the supervisor) will remind you with a loud 'Thank you!'. Next to the live table games there is a separate section for poker players with gaming tables seating up to 60 players. The casino is very popular and very busy at weekends. The restaurant is very nice and elegant serving a 3-course meal set menu at a fixed price (380 Dirham). The food is very good and the service is excellent. Smoking inside the casino is permitted, cigarettes and cigars. The gaming currency is in Moroccan Dirham and there is an in-house currency exchange facility. You don't need a passport or ID to enter the casino, but you will be required to produce one if you need to exchange foreign currency for Dirham. You will be given a receipt, which you will need to show should you wish to exchange back your money. This reverse transaction is only allowed from 10 pm to 3 am.

Useful information on Morocco
General: Morocco (Al-Magrib in Arabic meaning 'The West'), officially the Kingdom of Morocco, is a constitutional monarchy with an elected parliament. The country is located in North Africa with a population of about 33 million. The capital city is Rabat, and the largest city is Casablanca. Morocco recovered its political independence from France on March 2, 1956 and is the only country in Africa that is not currently a member of the African Union. Morocco was granted Major non-NATO ally status by the United States in June 2004 and has signed free trade agreements with the United States and the European Union.
Major cities: Among the major cities of Morocco, the most important ones are Casablanca (largest city and business capital), Rabat (capital city), Marrakesh, Agadir, Fez, Meknes and Tangier (11th largest city and the most cosmopolitan).
Major airports:
Agadir - Al Massira Airport (AGA), flights to most major European cities.
Al Hoceima - Cherif Al Idrissi Airport (AHU), flights to most major European cities.

Taxis: Taxi transportatio in Morocco is common. There are two types:
- 'Petite taxi' used only within the area of the town
- 'Grande taxi' used for trips between towns, and for larger groups
Prices for Petite taxis are reasonable and for local travel taxis should use the meter, by law. You should request the driver to start the meter, or you can ask in advance the cost of the trip but it is usually more expensive this way. A Grande taxi is a shared cab, generally for long-distance travel, with a fixed rate for each specific route. The driver stops along the way to pick up or to drop off passengers, like a bus.
Currency: The currency in Morocco is the Moroccan Dirham or MAD. It is also written as DH. The dirham is divided into 100 centimes. Currency notes are available in 20dh, 50dh, 100dh and 200dh monetary values. Coins are available in 5c, 10c, 20c, 50c, 1dh, 5dh and 10dh.
